Wedding music

Music for your wedding or event is an important element whether for the reception, cocktail hour or the ceremony itself. Musicians with class are often hard to come by. Two women performers with a wide range are Ksenia Mack and Kelly Riley and I would highly recommend either. Ksenia is an acoustic guitarist who can perform classical, contemporary and original pieces. Besides solo guitar, she sings and can captivate an audience.
Kelly Riley plays guitar and sings with a jazzy soulful sound that would make terrific accompaniment with piano or a trio. One of her latest projects incorporates accompaniment by jazz man Matt Gleason. Together they capture a mood that swings.
Both of these working musicians are consummate performers and would add class and taste to any wedding or event. For more information visit Ksenia Mack or Kelly Riley

Rolly-Michaux Galleries

Rolly-Michaux Galleries was established in 1967 by Ronald Rolly and Ronald Michaux. Locations included Newbury Street, Boston; Madison Avenue, New York and their current location at 290 Dartmouth Street in the Vendome Building of the Back Bay. Originally specializing in French Impressionists and Post-Impressionists they soon added both contemporary European and American artists.

Exhibitions over the 40 year period read like those of the most esteemed museums: Surrealist works of Man Ray and Dali; Bronze sculptures of Auguste Rodin from the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts and the prestigious Cantor collection; Pablo Picasso etchings, linoleum cuts and ceramics and ending with a celebration of their 40 years of exhibitions with Miro, Braque, Chagall, Matisse and Picasso. And these are but a few of their multitude of exhibitions.

Along the way they have shown a plethora of living artists, while recently adding their first contemporary photographer, the 39 year old Robert Castagna. His exhibition entitled The Art of Mystery, focused on abstractions of Kyoto Japan and featured 29 images taken from two sojourns to the city. Robert Castagna joins contemporary painter Thierry Faure and the works of Picasso, Chagall and Miro in the Group Show of August, 2007.

With perennial style and class Ronald Rolly and Ronald Michaux continue to introduce new emerging artists to the world while showing unequalled, quality exhibitions of well known and established artists.

Fine Art Photography, a good investment

Castle Reflection, edition of 15, available at Rolly-Michaux Galleries

Fine Art Photographs are a great investment within the current art world. While it is imperative that art collectors first acquire works that they love, there is always the consideration of rising value. That is, is the acquisition of work a good investment?
We have long since passed the point where photography was debated as to its position within the fine art world. This is now an established fact, with all of the museums of the world now holding extensive photographic collections. For example, Alfred Stieglitz, one of the founding fathers, if not the father of art photography, donated an extensive collection of his work to the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston. This step, along with his continued championing of art photography guaranteed its existence within the walls of established museums and galleries.
Therefore the value of photographs is something for the new or serious investor to consider. While the market is a bull one, the investor can still find images affordable. For this reason it is wise to consider at this time the acquisition of fine art photographs.
