wedding elements

There are many skills necessary to photograph a wedding day however they fall into two main elements. First there is the candid photograph, also known as photojournalism. This involves constant searching for the fleeting moment with an eye for the emotion and life of the day. The ability to remain relatively unobtrusive and to take rapid fire compositions are key. Secondly there is the ability to take formal portraiture which requires a certain amount of control and an eye for the artful setting. It also involves rapport so that pictures come off looking natural and relaxed. Both aspects of photography are necessary.

The above picture was taken after the ceremony and group formals with myself and the couple spending some time walking the grounds to find the perfect romantic settings.
