New Wedding Blog!

It's been awhile since I've posted. That's not because I haven't been busy. In fact I have been quite busy traveling and preparing for an upcoming fall exhibition as well as photographing Bar and Bat mitzvahs on a routine basis.

I'm mid a transition, creating a new Boston based wedding website and blog. So from now on all of my new wedding blog posts will be posted at my New Wedding Blog!

To see my blog and pictures from Bar and Bat Mitzvahs go to Boston Mitzvah Photographer.

And finally to view what's new in the field of art check out my Studio Website.

Boston North End

The Boston wedding season is coming upon us and engagement sessions are always fun to do. Again the "scene" for pictures is Boston's North End, a terrific destination for quintessential Boston imagery. The brick, alleys, lampposts and parks abound for great scenes. Christopher Columbus park is a great spot along the harbor. Jenny and Rob were great to work with and I look forward to their upcoming wedding later this year!

Boston wedding season

It appears that the Boston wedding season has approached sooner this year. And why not? Boston weddings are a joy to photograph and great weather makes it all the better! If you are planning a wedding don't hesitate to contact me to see if the date is available. I'd love to take part in your wedding day and enjoy every moment of the event - from getting ready to the final dance.

wedding planning

One can never plan a wedding day too early I say. Getting ready pictures are one of my favorite aspects of wedding photography. It's the anticipation, excitement and candidness of the moments leading up to the big moment, the ceremony. The "leading-up moments" are fun! The ceremony and party are like an encapsulation of planning moments.

And planning a wedding event is about making choices. Typically a wedding photographer is booked about 8 months in advance of the wedding day. This figure is by survey. I say a year in advance is better, or more. My suggestion is to embrace the "planning moments" and enjoy the expectation and excitement to come - just like I like to embrace the "getting-ready moments" of the wedding day. Good luck in your wedding planning!

Boston Engagement

Photographing in Boston's North End is one of my favorite locations. The reason is obvious. It has character and endless possibilities. After photographing one of my North End weddings I realized this. The streets are alive, the alleys allow for fun, and the nearby Boston Harbor adds contrast and space. Kristin and Ralph have fantastic chemistry and their wedding day is soon approaching. So this past week we took to the streets of the North End to capture some fun engagement pictures. You always have to be ready for what comes, and as soon as I saw the hopscotch grid in the playground I knew we needed to explore. It makes for one of my favorite series of pictures and I've included a couple here. Enjoy and happy wedding planning!

Boston wedding photographer

A Boston wedding can be truly special. Especially if you include some of the time honored landmarks of Boston throughout your wedding day. Starting off with hair and makeup on Newbury Street, a ceremony at the Old South Church, pictures in the Boston Public Garden and a reception at the Lenox Hotel. All centrally located within walking distance around Copley Square. It's quintessential Boston and one of the reasons I love to be a Boston wedding photographer!

Are you getting married in Boston? If so, I'd love to hear from you. Mention you saw this post and receive a $250 discount from your Boston wedding for remaining dates in 2012.
