Nijo Castle, located in the heart of Kyoto, is a shogun palace. This view of the famed garden within the castle walls was taken at the perfect time, sunset, providing a modeling effect and adding dimension and depth to the image. Many ask if it has been altered or manipulated. The moss, the sculpted trees and the perfectly placed rocks, provide a dream world for the shogun and his associates to escape into. The only manipulation that occurred with this image was the great skill of the japanese gardener who knew how to draw out the ultimate beauty from nature.
